Rihanna Reviews Her Upcoming Album Is Going To Be A Family Affair

Rihanna has definitely tried her fans’ patience. Since her previous album in 2016, the pop sensation has focused on acting, fashion, and family.

Fortunately, Rihanna appears to be back in music mode. She played at Super Bowl LVII and discussed the production of her new album in a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight. Not only did the pop star admit she had “hits” on deck, she also disclosed that ASAP Rocky is one of her key collaborators.

Rihanna attends the Fenty x Puma Creeper Phatty Earth Tone launch on April 17. ET asked her about her album on the red carpet, and the singer was surprisingly open. “I already got stuff that I feel like I could make hits out of,” she told the site. She also dismissed rumors that her sons, RZA and Riot, might appear on the album, adding, “It’s up to them.” The biggest bombshell, however, came when Rihanna spoke about the father of her children.

She verified ASAP Rocky was working on the album, stating that they were debating which tracks to claim for themselves. “Me and Rocky are really trying to figure out who’s gonna use what because it’s so good,” she said.

Rihanna and ASAP Rocky collaborating is a dream come true for fans. The duo has been dating since 2019, however they were not together when they released their respective recent albums. ASAP Rocky has not cancelled a project since Testing in 2018. Rihanna and Rocky have never officially collaborated on a song, even though the former appeared in the music video for Rocky’s “Fashion Killa” in 2011.

It seems natural that Rihanna and ASAP Rocky would cooperate on their comebacks, as Rocky mentioned to Complex. “I’m always down to collaborate with my partner,” he said. “Rihanna is a wonderful creator. We’ll be collaborating on a variety of projects, including children’s products. Neither artist has a release date in mind, but it seems like the wait will be worthwhile.
